The Hotel Trame project is located in the historic center of Rome, Italy, in the Sant’Eustachio district, just a few steps from iconic landmarks such as the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Largo di Torre Argentina, and Campo de’ Fiori. Set within a restored historic palace on Via Monterone, the hotel is embedded in a dense urban fabric where ancient heritage and contemporary life come together.
A narrative hospitality concept
The hotel is conceived as a narrative hospitality concept, designed as a boutique, design-driven experience, developed by the Piperno family and imagined by architect Valeriano Boragina. Covering approximately 760 m², the concept is based on the idea of a “trame” (weave), where history, architecture, and modern comfort intertwine. Each space is designed as a layered narrative, preserving the original structure while introducing carefully selected contemporary interventions.
Gallotti&Radice design language and aesthetic
One of the key characteristics of Hotel Trame is the use of “furniture islands”, where beds, sofas, and seating pieces become sculptural, independent elements within each space. This approach preserves the architectural reading of the building while introducing light and refined interventions. The material palette highlights Roman travertine, warm neutral tones, and elegant textures, while Gallotti&Radice enriches the interiors with its signature design language based on glass, minimalism, and architectural clarity, enhancing the lounges, suites, and reception areas.
