Abysse-10 de Larose Guyon

Some designs do not arrive fully formed. They evolve through experimentation, craftsmanship, and the spaces that first give them purpose. Abysse-10 by Larose Guyon follows precisely this path. After the Abysse concept was explored through custom interpretations created for specific projects, Abysse-10 now officially joins the Larose Guyon lighting collection. Rather than simply introducing another fixture, this transition marks a new chapter: a sculptural idea shaped through bespoke applications becomes a defined expression within the studio’s permanent design language.

Abysse-10 de Larose Guyon

The journey behind Abysse-10

Before becoming a collection piece, Abysse had already demonstrated how naturally it could respond to architecture and scale. Its previous custom interpretations allowed the composition to evolve through different spatial contexts, reflecting the exploratory approach behind Larose Guyon. Founded by Audrée L. Larose and Félix Guyon in Verchères, Québec, the studio brings experimentation together with local craftsmanship and traditional savoir-faire. With Abysse-10, that evolution finds permanence: what began through bespoke expression now becomes part of the continuing story of Canadian design and handcrafted lighting.

Light as sculpture

Abysse draws inspiration from the mysterious world beneath the sea, translating its textures and organic forms into an atmospheric composition. Textured brass, suspended chains and hand-blown glass globes create a sense of movement and luminous weightlessness, allowing light to interact with the fixture as much as the surrounding space. In Abysse-10, this language expands into a larger composition, reinforcing the architectural presence that defines sculptural lighting. It is designer lighting conceived not simply to illuminate, but to shape atmosphere through material, craftsmanship and form.

By officially welcoming Abysse-10 into its collection, Larose Guyon gives lasting form to an idea previously explored through custom projects. Its expanded scale, artistic presence and Québec craftsmanship embody the poetic approach that distinguishes the studio.
